Rearcross U-16's 0 - Nenagh AFC 6

Reacross U-16's were at home to Nenagh AFC in this floodlit Cup encounter on Wednesday evening with the Premier Division highlfliers proving too much of a handful for the home side. Nenagh applied the early pressure and went ahead when Birinna Singh finished in side the upright after Darragh Ryan Luke did well to block the initial effort. Conor Ryan made it two nil with a headed finish from the edge of the six yard box midway through the half. The Brickfields side took a three nil to the break when Alan Sheehan bundled the ball over the line from close range. Indeed, the home side would have been further behind at the midway stage only for some fine goalkeeping from Darragh Ryan Luke. Rearcrosss never gave up in the second half against a much stronger visting side, however Nenagh AFC really had too much strength in depth and tacked on three more goals through Ryan Gilmartin, Paul Dwan and Cillian Finn to comfortably secure their place in the next round. Rearcross had strong performances on the night from Darragh Ryan Luke, Paul Ryan and Darragh Kennedy and will now focus their attention on next Saturday's crucial league game away to Puckane.
